Semaglutide
Semaglutide is a 31-residue GLP-1 receptor agonist analogue in which the lysine at position 26 of native GLP-1 is acylated with a C18 fatty diacid via a γGlu-2xOEG linker. Substitution of Ala8 with α-aminoisobutyric acid (Aib) confers DPP-4 resistance; the lipid moiety enables high-affinity albumin binding and an extended plasma half-life in primate models.
